Monumental Challenges in Agriculture

Agriculture is the world’s largest industry employing more than one billion people and generates over $10 trillion dollars worth of food annually. By some estimates, the agriculture industry produces one-third of the world’s greenhouse gases linked to human activity, is a primary driver of deforestation, and uses as much as 70 percent of the world’s fresh water supply.


Our solutions to these challenges include creating greater access to nutritious food while enhancing crop durability against a changing environment and emerging pathogens. We use genomics, data analytics, and gene editing to enhance the value of food products while reducing production costs, minimizing energy inputs, increasing yield, and incorporating value-added agronomic and consumer traits.

Unlike conventional or GMO technologies, gene editing provides a rapid, non-GMO pipeline of agricultural products to expanding global markets with increasing consumer acceptance.
